Meet the Appsidex!
About the app
Appsidex stands for 'Appsilon' + 'Pokedex'. This app lets users learn more about their colleagues from their location to their personal background and hobbies.
From a technical perspective, the app serves as a public demo for theshiny.routerpackage. Click the following section to learn more about its main features!
Core features
Multi-page application
Shiny produces a Single-Page Application (SPA), which may limit some developers who seek complex functionalities.
shiny.routermakes it effortless to trick user into thinking the app contains multiple pages - as the route in the browser URL changes.
It's even possible to use back/forward navigation while staying in the app!

Direct control via URL parameters
Users are able to access certain pages by directly entering the necessary URL. It's also possible to set specified URL parameters, which may be used by the developer to set certain inputs.
This opens many opportunities for applications that contain similar content.

404 - Page not found
shiny.routerhas automatic redirection to the '404 not found' page. Here a developer is able to completely customize the page: add their own content, style and javascript - like with any other page.
What makes this feature interesting, is the ability to redirect users to the 404 page based on Shiny inputs. For example, a missing or invalid person that the user is looking for.

shiny.fluent
This is a big game-changer for companies already using Microsoft tools on a daily basis. Those users are already familiar and content with the Microsoft UI. -
Rhino
Rhino is an R package designed to help you build high-quality, enterprise-grade Shiny applications at speed. It allows you to create Shiny apps “The Appsilon Way”.
